IT WAS a bloody weekend for various communities, as mass shootings were reported across the Mother City.
On Friday evening unknown suspects opened fire in a drive-by shooting on six youngsters between the ages of 17 and 21 years which resulted in five people being shot and wounded and a sixth male managed to escape the onslaught unharmed.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg said that Kleinvlei Police registered six counts of attempted murder following the shooting incident at about 6:15pm in Palmiet Street, Electric City, Eerste River.
