MAX MCNEILL knows all about the Drama of the Cheltenham Festival. The longstanding owner has been forced to play a supporting role more times than he cares to remember on jump racing's biggest stage.
This year, he's hoping No Drama This End will ease the painful memories of those heartbreaking near misses when his newest star lines up in the Grade 1 Turners Novices’ Hurdle.
The six-year-old - trained by Paul Nicholls - is one of the hottest British jumps prospects after victory in the Grade 1 Challow Hurdle at Newbury over Christmas. Now he has McNeill daring to dream of a first Festival victory.
He said: “I hated every minute of the Challow. There were so many things against him that day but he still went and won.
“This could be the best chance I've got of having a Cheltenham Festival winner for a very long time. I'm determined to enjoy it.”
