SMITH WANTS UNITED FRONT FOR TITLE TILT

Were Rangers fans far too critical of their team at halftime in Wednesday night's 5-1 win over Kilmarnock?

Gaffer Danny Rohl certainly thought so.

With his side a goal up at the break and on course to close the gap at the top of the Premiership to just three points, the German felt the crowd's moans and groans were harsh.

Smith agrees. After all, he's been involved in title races at Ibrox before and knows it’s not all plain sailing before lifting the flag.

But having been at the club through good times and bad, the Gers coach also understands why punters are so edgy.

He's got firsthand experience of the torture these fans have endured in the last two decades.

Even just a few months ago when Russell Martin was in charge, they felt yet more misery lay ahead.

So Smith gets it. The fans are struggling to put their trust in anyone to bring success back to the club.
