A NEW father who smashed a man's head several times with a hammer has walked free from court to spend “critical bonding time with his child”.
-
Finnley McIntyre stormed into a stranger's home and bludgeoned him with the weapon over concerns at the company his sister was keeping.
Lyndsay Barber, defending, told Perth Sheriff Court: “He is a new father. He does not want to consider himself to be a poor role model.
“If custody is deemed to be inevitable, he will lose critical bonding time with his child.”
