Inquest told of tragic accident as mum, 81, hit when son reversed his car at GP surgery

A SON reversed into his mum with his Range Rover after she fell in a tragic accident outside a doctors’ surgery.
Celia Adams, 81, died after a collision on the car park at Brynffynnon Surgery, Denbigh, on February 18, 2025.
Celia Adams, who was 81 and had osteoporosis, died 10 days later in hospital.
She had been taken to the GP surgery in Denbigh for a 9.30am appointment by her son Ian Adams. He parked in a temporary bay then took her round his car, leaving her “steadying” herself on another car.
He then got back in but without seeing his mum reversed into her. Mrs Adams, a great grandmother and retired shopkeeper, was taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.
She was transferred to the Royal Stoke University Hospital but died there 10 days after the accident.
A coroner at an inquest in Ruthin concluded that the death of Mrs Adams, of School Street, Henllan, Denbigh, was accidental.
The hearing was told Mr Adams had taken his mum in his Range Rover to the Bronffynnon surgery in Denbigh on Tuesday morning, February 18 last year.
Mr Adams said he parked temporarily in one of two GPs’ bays as they were near the door.
