Thief killed 68-yr-old as he fled with stolen socks

A SHOPLIFTER who killed a woman when he pushed her over as he fled a store with stolen socks has been jailed for manslaughter.
Joseph Smith, 37, swiped three packs worth £66 at Sports Direct last October.
He ran around a blind corner into Christine Vasey and her husband, who were visiting Sunderland for the football.
Smith shoved her to the ground then ran away.
