Majorca’s economy ‘on brink’ as anti-tourism protests hit trade

ANTI-TOURIST demos in Majorca have hit the island hard, with scores of sunbeds lying empty.

Beach bar profits, water sports activities and sunbed hire were all down by about 20% in July compared to last summer, according to traders group Adopuma.

Guided tours have also seen bookings slump by a similar amount.
