Medals may sell for £260k
THE Victoria Cross and medals of a war hero who survived being shot in the head are expected to make £260,000 at auction.
Company Sgt Maj James Ockendon cheated death at Gallipoli in 1915, and in 1917 single-handedly destroyed a machine-gun nest at the Third Battle of Ypres, killing all its crew.
