|December 16, 2025
THE family of the shopkeeper who disarmed one of the Bondi gunmen described him as a hero.
Fruit shop owner Ahmed al Ahmed, 43, tackled gunman Sajid Akram, 50, during the attack.
His dad, Mohamed Fateh al Ahmed, said his son did not hesitate when he saw people being attacked, adding: "He was driven by his sentiment, conscience and humanity when he rushed forward, stopped the gunman, and snatched his weapon."
Ahmed was out having coffee with a friend when he saw victims lying in the street, his dad added.
