Living next to an underground fire ..for SIX MONTHS

Locals fear colliery blaze is damaging their health

NEIGHBOURS whose gardens back on to a huge underground fire that has been burning for six months say they fear for their health.

Kids have been unable to play outside since the firewhich has left the area covered in soot - was spotted in July.

The root of the blaze is thought to be deposits of coal and iron ore from a colliery at a 19th century steelworks.
