JUST JOB Elijah is Kiwi history man as he arrives on big stage
Daily Mirror UK
|June 17, 2026
IT HAS been some 11 months for Elijah Just.
And now he finds himself a part of New Zealand football history.
The All Whites might still be waiting for their first win at a World Cup, but Motherwell winger Just, 26, achieved something no other player from their shores has ever achieved by scoring twice in one match.
Both his goals were from assists by Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood in front of over 70,000 fans at the Los Angeles Stadium in their opening Group G match.
Just was shortlisted for the PFA Scotland Premiership Player of the Year and now he is a star of the show here at the World Cup.
