Tributes to Tory heavyweight Lord Tebbit at funeral

TOP Tories turned out in force to say farewell to former minister Lord Norman Tebbit at his funeral.

Mourners included former MPs Lord Jeffrey Archer, Neil Hamilton, Jacob Rees-Mogg and Therese Coffey.

Author and Tory peer Lord Michael Dobbs read a eulogy which described Lord Tebbit as a “giant” and an inspiring leader.

And Sir Iain Duncan Smith, former leader of the party, gave a reading from Shakespeare's Hamlet. The words “neither a borrower nor a lender be,” would have resonated with Lord Tebbit and his close ally, Margaret Thatcher.
