SALON CATALYST
In a candid and heartfelt conversation, reflects on his unexpected path into the beauty industry, the sacrifices that shaped his journey, and the deep human connections that continue to inspire his work.
From humble beginnings in Kegalle to building a salon grounded in confidence, care, and community, his story is a powerful testament to resilience, passion, and purpose.
Let's start from the beginning, how did you first enter the beauty industry?
Honestly, my journey into the beauty industry happened completely by chance. I simply discovered it one day, and from that very moment, I felt a spark. The creativity, the freedom, and the power to transform someone’s confidence truly drew me in. Almost instantly, I knew this was something I wanted to pursue. Starting out was far from easy. I came from nothing and had to fight for every step forward. At one point, I even sold my mother’s gold bangles just to get my dream off the ground. That sacrifice still stays with me; it is a constant reminder of why I can never give up. I was also blessed with four incredible friends, Keerthi, Dev, Sachitra, and Sharmal, who believed in me during the toughest times. Without their support, I honestly don’t know if I would have made it this far. Looking back, every struggle, sacrifice, and long hour of hard work was worth it. Today, I have the privilege of doing what I love and making a difference in people's lives every single day.
Was becoming a salon founder always your dream, or did it happen unexpectedly?
