WITH a net worth of $ 1.6 billion, LOLC Holdings Chairman Ishara Nanayakkara has overtaken Dhammika Perera to become the wealthiest person in Sri Lanka, according to Gulf News.
LOLC Holdings is a diversified financial services and investment conglomerate with operations in over 10 countries. Nanayakkara has played a pivotal role in expanding Sri Lanka’s pres-
ence in the global microfinance and insurance sectors.
Gulf News said Nanayakkara is among South Asia's billionaire titans, which includes Mukesh Ambani, Shahid Khan, Moosa Bin Shamsher, and Binod Chaudhary.
As of 2025, Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, continues to be the wealthiest person in India and South Asia, with a net worth estimated at $ 118 billion.
His diversified empire spans telecom. (Jio), energy, petrochemicals, and retail, cementing his position as a global business magnate.
