TV's Allsopp: Stamp duty like a 'sin tax' for movers
Daily Express
|November 13, 2025
LOCATION, Location, Location star Kirstie Allsopp has told MPs she believes stamp duty should be abolished.
Speaking at a Treasury committee hearing, the Channel 4 presenter said people should be able to move cheaply and easily.
Allsopp, 54, said: “What I see is young people buying more expensive houses than they can afford because they can’t pay duty twice.
“The other thing I'm seeing a lot of is people altering two and three-bed houses rather than moving, because the cost of moving is so high.”
