GIANLUIGI DONNARUMMA was at Manchester City's training ground on Wednesday when he stopped by Pep Guardiola's office for a chat.

- By Tyrone Marshall

It was a proper introduction for manager and goalkeeper after the player completed the formalities of his move from Paris St-Germain while on international duty in Italy.

For the rest of the squad it was a day of rest, but there was plenty to discuss for these two.

By moving from Ederson - a player Guardiola described yesterday as “one of the best players I've ever seen in the distribution” - to Donnarumma, there is the expectation of a shift in style to follow. Any difficulties were clearly ironed out in that first meeting. When Donnarumma trained with his teammates for the first time on Thursday, Guardiola stayed in his office.

He had already heard enough and his coaches were soon telling him they had seen enough.
