Elton: Don't let the sun go down on human creativity

Star's plea to ministers over the dangers of artificial intelligence

SIR Elton John has pleaded with the Government to stand up for artists who fear their creativity is threatened by the rise of artificial intelligence.

The star, 78, this week used a message after an awards bash to call for stronger copyright protections in the upcoming Data (Use and Access) Bill - and vowed he would not back down from the fight.

He is among hundreds of creatives to raise concerns over AI companies using their work without permission.

Peers want to make sure copyright holders can see when their work has been used and are trying to add transparency requirements to the Bill.

But the Government has repeatedly rejected their proposals.
