Davie backs BBC licence fee 'reform'

BBC supremo Tim Davie yesterday told how he supports changing the way the corporation is funded.

The director-general's backing comes as the Government launches a review of the BBC's Charter.

It has committed to raising the licence fee in line with inflation each year until 2027.

In April, the yearly charge on households increased from £169.50 to £174.50, following years in which it was first frozen, then upped at a slower rate than the broadcaster expected.
