British skydiver falls 11,000 feet ...and survives

A BRITISH holidaymaker survived an 11,000ft skydiving plunge after his parachute failed to properly open, sending him into a tailspin.

Mitchell Deakin, 25, was severely injured during the tandem jump in Las Vegas, US, as was his instructor Jiron Arcos Ponce, 54.
Police said the pair hit the ground at “approximately 35-45mph" after the backup parachute also malfunctioned.
