New measures: Outrage over Abdul Ezedi’s case prompted review

- By Michael Knowles Home Affairs Editor

All sex offenders from overseas to face deportation

MORE foreign sex offenders face being deported as they will be banned from claiming asylum under new measures.

The Home Office last night announced that any overseas nationals put on the sex offenders’ register for crimes in the UK will not be granted refugee status.

But the change will not stop foreign crooks from using Article 8 or Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights to fight to stay.

Insiders say the Home Office decision to include all sex offences in the legal changes could lead immigration judges to conclude that perverts sentenced to less than 12 months behind bars should be deported because they are not “conducive to the public good”.
