Actress Pauline McLynn joined Corrie as fiery Maggie five months ago, and has proved she's not to be messed with. So when she discovers her 16-year-old grandson Will (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) has been groomed for sex by his older athletics coach Megan (Beth Nixon), who is now pregnant, Maggie takes matters into her own hands.
"Maggie is a woman of action," says Pauline, 63. "There are matters with the police over the grooming of the grandson, but I think she feels the law moves at a very slow pace, and there are rules that she does not have to follow. They also have to be really careful of how they approach any situation whereas Maggie's more of a blunt instrument. She just thinks, 'Look, I'm going to sort it out, I'll find her. I'll warn her off.'"
