100,000 back bus driver sacked after nabbing thief

A BUS driver backed by a 100,000-name petition protesting over his sacking for knocking out a thief does not want his job back.
Mark Hehir chased and caught the man who had stolen a passenger's necklace, then hit out in self-defence when the suspect attacked him.
He said the public had shown "incredible" support since a tribunal upheld the decision by Metroline bosses to subsequently fire him.
Mark, 62, added: "I'd be very happy if Metroline made an apology and just admitted that they might have got it wrong.
"I'd like them to compensate me for lost earnings...that's important, that they understand they got it wrong."
