'OUR LADS DIDN'T LET IT DIE' - LAMPARD PRAISES 'BRILLIANT' CITY

Rudoni's late winner could show the way to go for the Sky Blues

Frank Lampard sings along with fans after the game

WHEN Coventry City first moved back to the CBS Arena and were striving to get a foothold back in the Championship they made a habit of scoring late winners from Kyle McFadzean's fever pitch-inducing finishes against QPR and Nottingham Forest to Matty Godden's against Reading and Bristol City.

There's something particularly special about a stoppage-time goal to trigger the emotions, lifting you from a position of resignation to settling for a point as the seconds tick away to flipping your feelings to euphoria in a moment.

And on Saturday against Stoke City we all revelled in another of those occasions when Jack Rudoni steered home off the heel of Potters' defender Ben Gibson to secure the Sky Blues' fourth straight victory in the space of 12 days and reassert the team's authority at the top of the division.
