Telangana to enforce stricter road safety measures : Minister Ponnam

Telangana Transport and Backward Classes Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Saturday announced that the state government is planning to introduce stringent road safety measures, including potential cancellation of driving licences in cases of serious road accidents.

The Minister also said that it would soon be mandatory for all vehicles to carry reflector radium stickers, and efforts are underway to set up driving training centers across the state.

The Minister made these announcements while laying the foundation stone for an Automated Vehicle Testing Station (ATC) at Dandampally near the Nalgonda district headquarters. The project, estimated at a cost of Rs 8 crore, is part of thestate's broader initiative to modernize the transport sector and enhance road safety.
