The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) has reported a significant decline in cybercrime complaints and financial losses during the first four months of 2025, compared to the same period in 2024.
According to TGCSB Director Shikha Goel, this positive trend is the result of extensive public awareness campaigns, swift action during the crucial "golden hour," and the adoption of data-driven enforcement strategies.
From January to April 2025, Telangana recorded an 11 per cent decrease in financial cybercrime complaints, with an additional 5.5 per cent drop compared to the September-December 2024 quarter. In contrast, cybercrime complaints across the country rose by 28 per cent during the same period.
The total financial losses due to cybercrime in Telangana also saw a significant reduction of 19 per cent during the first four months of 2025, and more than 30 per cent when compared to the previous quarter.
