Ganesh immersion in Hyderabad concludes peacefully with 1.40 lakh idols immersed : CV Anand

On this day (7.9.2025), at the conclusion of the second day of the main Ganesh idol immersion, C.V. Anand IPS, DG and Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, addressed the media regarding the Ganesh idol immersions.

GHMC officials stated that a total of 1,40,000 Ganesh idols were immersed from the third to the eleventh day. They mentioned that 1,20,000 of these idols were immersed in baby ponds and other small lakes. However, through our online process, 12,030 idols were registered in Hyderabad City. Of these, 7,330 idols were immersed on the days leading up to the main immersion, leaving 4,700 idols to be immersed during the main immersion event. However, of these, 900 idols are still at Necklace Road for immersion.
The Ganesh immersion procession continued for almost 40 hours. This year, the procession was slightly delayed as some idols were taller than 40 feet. The police worked for two days without sleep to ensure the immersion was completed peacefully.
