THE City of Cape Town is proving that when government works for the people - not against them - real change happens.
While the national government and the SAPS continue to fail in the fight against crime, the DA-led City of Cape Town is stepping up where Pretoria has fallen silent.
In just three months, the City’s policing teams - including the Metro Police, Law Enforcement Advancement Plan (LEAP) officers, and specialised crime units - have confiscated over 21000 drug units, made more than 3000 arrests, and removed more than 60 firearms and 700 rounds of ammunition from our streets. These are not empty promises or political slogans — they are concrete results. They show what can be achieved when leadership is serious about safety and accountability.
The truth is that centralised policing has failed South Africa.
