BOSS KEY IS LOOKING FOR CHARACTER FROM SIDE AFTER DEFEATS

- By STEPHEN PAGE

SOHAM Town Rangers boss Lance Key says he will see “what the squad is made of” following his side's recent run of league losses.

The Greens have registered four straight defeats in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division, the latest being a 4-1 loss at home to Dereham Town on Saturday.

Soham previously went on a superb winning run, recording six straight league victories to go top of the division, but are now tasked with getting back on track following a drop off in form.

Reflecting on his side’s latest loss in the league, Key told his club following Saturday's defeat: “Disappointed, not that we lose the game, but the manner that we lose the game.

“We asked them before the game to be more aggressive, to have more energy than them, to work harder than them, to have more bite than them, and we didn’t really do that.

“Dereham were aggressive throughout. They had the seven who played wide right at the start, and then down the middle with the nine, the centre-forward, two very good players, but the four goals we concede are avoidable. I think that’s the concern, that’s why we had a little bit of a meeting after the game.
