What makes USB-C the gold standard of charging ports?

The week, the European Parliament approved new rules to introduce a single charging port for most electronic devices. This effectively made the USB-C used by Android-based devices the standard. Let us find out what makes this connector the benchmark.

What the rules say

The European Parliament on Tuesday passed rules standardising the charging port for electronic items. It selected USB Type-C - better  known as USB-C- as the standard port. So, by the end of 2024, all mobile phones, tablets, and cameras sold in the European Union must have a USB-C port. But the deadline for the laptop has been set for 2026.
