|March 16, 2026
THE International Finance Corp. (IFC) announced last Friday it approved a loan package to CreditAccess Philippines Financing Co. Inc. (OnePuhunan) to improve access to finance and promote job creation especially in rural areas of the country.
-
Through a statement, the primary private investment arm of the World Bank Group said that proceeds of the project will be exclusively used for microloans, focusing on women-owned or led microenterprises.
According to the IFC, the transaction with OnePuhunan was processed under the MSME Finance Platform. It consists of a three-year senior loan to OnePuhunan, comprising: an "A Loan" of up to $20 million and a mobilization of up to $40 million for on-lending exclusively to women-owned/led micro enterprises in the rural areas in the Philippines.
The $4-billion MSME Finance Platform, launched in 2024, aimed to boost financing dedicated to MSMEs through debt, guarantees, and risk-sharing facilities.
