March 10, 2026

Globe Telecom Inc. said on Sunday it is scaling its partnership with Singaporean wireless communications company Transcelestial Technologies Pte Ltd., committing to deploy over 400 wireless laser links across the Philippines over the next three years to strengthen its 5G backhaul network.

- BY LORENZ S. MARASIGAN

The technology uses laser links to deliver fiber-class capacity for 5G and small cells, bypassing the physical construction constraints that have long slowed network expansion in the country.
