BRISTOL City’s Mark Sykes believes the ‘bad energy’ that loomed over Ashton Gate has finally been dispelled following a transformative Easter weekend, writes Daniel Clark.
After a terrible run of form which saw the playoff hopes for the Robins disappear and the sacking of Gerhard Struber, Sykes was the man of the moment on Easter Monday, finding the net to ensure City secured six points from a possible six.
Victory on Good Friday at Charlton Athletic was followed by another single goal win on Easter Monday over Sheffield United, and following the victory, the Republic of Ireland international opened up on the relief felt within the dressing room after a “tough period” that had tested the squad's resolve.
