Football Earthy set for short spell on the sidelines with ankle injury

GERHARD Struber has revealed George Earthy missed Bristol City's FA Cup defeat away to Port Vale with an ankle injury, with the West Ham United loanee set for a brief spell out of the team.

To the surprise of many supporters, Earthy was absent from both the starting lineup and the substitutes bench as the Robins were beaten 1-0 in extra-time at Vale Park, with Ben Waine’s 112th-minute strike enough to ensure City's FA Cup campaign was brought to an end.
Having been slipped behind the Robins’ backline by Andre Gray, Waine rounded Joe Lumley in the City goal before slotting a leftfooted finish beyond each of Neto Borges, Noah Eile and Cam Pring to book Jon Brady's side's place in the fifth round.
