The WWF is encouraging everyone to get outdoors and reconnect with nature during the colder months

- DAISY FOX

RECONNECTING with the natural world in winter can help ease the seasonal blues. The days may be short, but spending time outdoors brings joy and calm while banishing stress, anxiety and low mood.

WWF is inviting people across the UK to bring the family together for some fresh air and movement by taking part in its 2026 Big Winter Wander. Running until February 22, the event encourages families, friends, schools and workplaces to complete a 5k or 10k walk anywhere they choose, while raising funds to support WWF's vital conservation work.

Anyone who raises £30 will receive a WWF T-shirt, while those raising £100 will receive an exclusive Big Winter Wander eco-medal.
