Mum suffers bleed on brain after ladder fall
Birmingham Mail
|September 09, 2025
A BIRMINGHAM mum suffered a horrific head wound after plunging from a ladder in an accident witnessed by her young children.
Mum-of-three Marie Chandra fell 10ft onto the brick driveway of her family’s Longbridge home as two of her children, aged 12 and eight, looked on.
Her 12-year-old rushed to call his grandmother as neighbours dialled 999 with Marie, 39, unconscious and bleeding.
She was found to have suffered a bleed on the brain and is still in hospital more than a week after the fall, which happened on August 27 as she painted the house and cleaned windows.
“She had a deep head wound, blood coming from her ears and was unconscious before coming around confused and disoriented,’ said Marie's cousin Jody.
“Marie’s two youngest children were there when it happened - something no child should ever have to see.
