Gynaecological symptoms to tell your doctor about

A CHARITY has warned of the risks of turning to AI chatbot for a diagnosis or health advice when it comes to gynaecological concerns.

A recent YouGov survey of more than 2,000 women in the UK, commissioned by The Eve Appeal as part of its Get Lippy campaign, found nearly one in 10 had sought AI advice about various symptoms. The charity says these tools often deliver inaccurate or outdated information.

Here are five gynaecological signs that should prompt a visit to a doctor.

1. Abnormal vaginal bleeding

“This could be bleeding after menopause, bleeding after intercourse or bleeding between menstrual periods,” says Dr Jane Benjamin, GP and women’s health lead at HCA UK Primary Care.

“It’s important to not ignore this. It could be a sign of an abnormality with the endometrium, such as an endometrial polyp, or an early sign of endometrial cancer.”
