TCC warns of cost of living woes

Bangkok Post

|

March 18, 2026

The energy crisis is likely to spark a cost-of-living crisis, with impacts expected in the next one to three months, the Thailand Consumer Council (TCC) said.

- POST REPORTERS

TCC secretary-general Saree Aongsomwang said rising energy costs will soon cause production and service expenses to skyrocket, and businesses are likely to cite higher fuel and transportation costs to justify higher prices.

The TCC expects consumers to see noticeable increases in the prices of everyday goods if the fuel supply volatility persists.
