Oil prices fell last week amid bearish sentiment about oversupply, though losses were limited by concern about geopolitical tensions centred on Ukraine and Venezuela.

US President Donald Trump continues to pressure Venezuela, announcing new sanctions after US forces seized a supertanker at sea last week.
Ukraine has delivered its response to a US-drafted proposal to end the war with Russia, but Kyiv's hard line on territorial concessions remains a sticking point.
West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude fell 37 cents to close at $58.65 per barrel. Brent decreased by 62 cents to $62.33. Thaioil forecasts that WTI this week will trade between $56 and $66, and Brent between $58 and $68. Traders will be weighing encouraging economic signs against oversupply worries heading into 2026.
