Colombia's leader Petro scrutinised in US drug-trafficking probe

US prosecutors working on drug trafficking investigations have examined the activities of Colombia President Gustavo Petro as part of their ongoing probes, according to people familiar with the matter.

The review of Mr Petro's conduct involves US attorney's offices in Manhattan and Brooklyn, said the people, who asked not to be identified discussing a law enforcement matter.
The investigation was reported earlier by the New York Times.
In a post on X, Mr Petro said that there is no investigation against him in Colombia for links to drug traffickers.
