Beautiful singer was a great supporter of town

TRIBUTES have been paid to a ‘beautiful singer’ who was well-known as a ‘great supporter of Accrington’ and ‘always had a smile on her face.

Anne Robinson of Oswaldtwistle, passed away at a care home in Wirral after a long illness on June 5, aged 87.
The mother-of-four and her husband Gordon ran insurance business Gordon Robinson and Partners on Dutton Street, Accrington which opened in 1970.
Anne worked alongside Gordon as an Office Manager until Gordon died in 1993 and the business was sold.
Her daughter Jane said: "Mum always had a smile on her face and she was very much a family person.
"She was very organised and loved reading and singing was her life.
"She was a beautiful singer.
"She was always where my dad was, supporting him and they were well known in the town as great supporters of Accrington."
