THERE'S not many tasks that Janina Augustynowicz hasn't undertaken in her football career.

-  Jon Couch

JANI IS A JACK OF ALL TRADES

Coach, manager, gardener, builder, cleaner, caterer, social media designer, secretary, welfare officer, physio and ground grader - she's literally done the lot.

Now, the 48-year-old is about to take on the most important role of her career after being elected as the first ever female chairperson of the South West Peninsula League.

Augustynowicz's love for local football wasn't exactly natural at first, but soon grew into an obsession.

Since first setting up an Under 18s side in Looe, Cornwall, for her brother-in-law to play, her passion for the game never waned and soon she was involved in senior football with the likes of Callington Town, Elburton Villa and Liskeard Athletic.

At the same time, she was known to South West Peninsula League officials, working on the ground grading panel, and on attending a meeting with secretary Phil Hiscox, Augustynowicz was encouraged to put her name forward for the top job to replace the outgoing Mike Pett.
