HIGH-FLYING Altrincham made it ten matches unbeaten in the National League with a battling win at home over a Southend United side who surrendered their own impressive run.
Second-half goals from star winger Justin Amaluzor and substitute Justin Donawa took the points for the fifth-placed Robins to close the gap at the top of the table.
“I’m made up with our run,” said assistant Alty boss Neil Sorvel, “You can easily go ten the other way at this level, and we have in the past, so it just shows the level our lads have reached.
“I thought it was a really solid performance from us, we played some great stuff. They’re a good side, seven unbeaten themselves, and without the 10-point deduction would’ve been above us before today. But we made them look average.
