Placement remains the crucial success indicator for higher education institutions. Numbers, patterns and trends – an Outlook insight into the placement mix at one of India's top B-Schools.

Numbers and Beyond

For students, placement is a culmination of rigorous academic pursuits, and also a rite of passage. For institutions, it is perhaps the most definitive index of their performance. IIM Ahmedabad, the top B-school in India, lived up to its reputation and ranking by achieving yet again a 100% record in the latest placement cycle, with all students placed across its 30 cohorts.

The Success Snapshot

One of the best B-schools in the country, the highest package at the campus was an impressive Rs 1.46 crore per annum. The average and median packages were equally impressive, standing at Rs 34.45 lakh per annum and Rs 31.58 lakh per annum respectively.

Boston Consulting Group made the biggest moves this placement season, extending 35 offers. Managing Director Saurabh Chhajer said, “IIMA has consistently been one of our preferred campuses, delivering exceptional talent year after year.”

BCG was followed by Accenture Strategy with 30 offers. Apart from these two giants, Goldman Sachs sent out nine offers in Banking, while Tata Administrative Services made five offers in general management.
