The Nayab Singh Saini Government is investing in women, nurturing the next generation by ensuring financial freedom, dignity, and equal opportunity

In a decisive move towards women’s economic independence, the Haryana Government is transforming lives across the state by enabling women to become self-reliant entrepreneurs and educated professionals.

Through innovative loan and subsidy schemes, the Haryana Women Development Corporation (HWDC) is helping women overcome financial barriers, pursue higher education, and establish their own ventures in fields ranging from agriculture to small-scale industries. With thousands of beneficiaries already supported, HWDC’s mission extends beyond financial assistance — it is about building confidence, capability, and a future where every woman in Haryana stands as a pillar of strength, progress, and empowerment.

HWDC is dedicated to empowering women by providing financial assistance through various loan schemes. These initiatives aim to help women achieve economic independence and self-reliance in sectors such as agriculture, industry, and trade.

Education loan scheme

Under this scheme, the HWDC offers an interest subsidy of 5% on the education loans taken through banks by women and girls from Haryana for pursuing higher education. There are no restrictions based on income or caste for availing oneself of this subsidy.

From 2014 to April 2025, a total of ₹2,491.53 lakh was provided by the Haryana Government as 5% interest subsidy to 5,519 women and girls who availed themselves of education loans.

The Individual Loan Scheme is designed for women whose annual family income is ₹1.8 lakh or less, and members of whose family are not income tax payers. Eligible women can apply for loans up to ₹1.5 lakh for setting up small businesses like embroidery, grocery shops, tailoring, readymade garments, cloth stores, stationery, boutiques, and general stores.
