For too long, the luxury discourse has often been defined by tangible markers; designer apparel, accessories, bespoke automobiles. That comes as little surprise of course, given the bill of materials and labour that go into the creation of these rarified objets d’art. Yet, more often than not, we fail to take into account one commodity which we all share that can serve as one of the purest expressions of luxury: time.

A scarce, nonrenewable resource that we consume at all hours of the day, whether willingly or otherwise, it is in what you make of the time you have that determines how much of it has been used wisely. The contemporary gripe of wanting a few extra hours out of every day is evidence enough of that to be true, what with the typical convention of frenetic hustle.

Then one could say that those who are in the position to revel in it with languor by stopping to smell the roses are perhaps the most enviable of us all.
