MANY HOPE THE RELEASE OF DOCUMENTS WILL PROVE WHAT REALLY HAPPENED THAT DAY

It's a question that has haunted the United States for decades: was President John F. Kennedy assassinated by an "angry lone nut", or was there a conspiracy behind his murder?

According to President Donald Trump, the answer to America's biggest murder mystery is on its way.

On January 23, Trump declassified a trove of documents relating to the 1963 assassination of Kennedy, as well as the 1968 assassinations of his brother, Robert F. Kennedy, and civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr.

A plan is now underway for their review and release.

"A lot of people [have been] waiting for this for years, for decades," Trump said. "And everything will be revealed."

For Kennedy assassination expert Jefferson Morley, the files could reveal crucial information on the CIA and Lee Harvey Oswald, who authorities deemed was the lone killer.
