Reputation and trust outweigh short-term gimmicks in determining entrepreneurial success, said chartered accountant Santosh Kenkre, while addressing a lecture series at Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias as part of its centenary celebrations.

Drawing insights from his professional journey and his interactions with leaders such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Infosys Chairman NR Narayan Murthy, Kenkre underscored the enduring importance of quality, discipline, and marketing in business.

"In the short term, gimmicks may work. In the long run, it is quality that sells. Reputation is what keeps you in the game. Look at Tata. If Tata does something, we buy it blindly," Kenkre remarked, stressing that trust and reputation form the backbone of entrepreneurial longevity.
