Stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania breaks down her vision board for the bride and groom, highlighting the sartorial stories she wove for each of their celebrations.

The father of the bride had one simple brief: “My daughter has to look incredible. ” For stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania, these words were music to her ears.

All hearsay aside, Netra Mantena made for a beautiful bride, pretty and poised on occasion, vibrant and exuberant on others. And much of her appeal was thanks to Anaita’s impeccable styling prowess. Every single piece was one-of-a-kind, and deeply sentimental — the result of countless meetings with designers, exploring innumerable looks till the vision felt right.

THE BRIDE'S DIRECTION

“As a bride, Netra told me early on that florals weren't her thing. So, we kept them to a minimum,” Anaita points out. “The only exception is the lotus in her haldi outfit. Even in the Elie Saab reception gown, the florals were bold and graphic, not delicate.”

Netra wasn’t a pastel-perfect bride either. Shocking pink, gold, rust, blush, white, ivory — all found a place in her trousseau. As the stylist explains: “I flowed with the themes, the locations, and the emotions we were working with.”
