Spring 2025

Sous-Commanderie, New Delhi

- Reva K. Singh

Oenophile's notebook

An active member of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin and lover of all things Burgundy, Rajiv Kehr has made it his mission to induct new members into the Confrérie, writes Reva K. Singh, herself a chevalier since 2019

Accompanied by a group of wine enthusiasts from India, Rajiv Kehr attended a special event of the Chapitre des Sarments on the 26th of October 2024 at Clos de Vou-geot to celebrate the 90th Anniversary of the Confrérie des Chevalier du Tastevin and create an Indian branch or Sous-Commanderie. The Chapitre des Sarments is a significant event in the world of wine, particularly for those connected to Burgundy. During the Chapitre des Sarments, new members are inducted into the organization in a ceremonial fashion. Said Rajiv, who is the Grand-Senechal or Leader of the Sous-Commanderie, New Delhi, “Clos-Vougeot always accords a warm welcome to chevaliers from India.”. Sous-commanderies from across the world were represented on the occasion, with the biggest contingents from New Orleans, San Diego and Canada. Along with Thailand, India is the youngest branch or Sous-Commanderie.
