INTERVIEW-JIGNESH MEHTA Founder and MD Divine Solitaires
-
How do you view the relevance and appeal of natural diamonds in today's luxury and lifestyle landscape?
Jignesh Mehta: Natural diamonds have always stood for rarity, legacy, and deep emotional significance — qualities that remain timeless. They are aspirational assets, cherished not just for their beauty, but for the moments they represent milestones, celebrations, and symbols of personal fulfillment. In a world where trends come and go, the authenticity and preciousness of natural diamonds ensure they hold emotional value that endures across generations.
At Divine Solitaires, we believe that a natural diamond is not just something you own, it’s something you feel, something you pass on. That emotional permanence is what makes them so meaningful today.
Younger consumers are said to value experience over possessions. How does Divine Solitaires engage with this mindset?
Jignesh Mehta: Absolutely, today’s younger generation seeks meaning, not materialism. That’s why we frame natural diamonds as a deeply personal experience, not just a product.
At Divine Solitaires, every solitaire comes with a story, it’s traceable, certified, and crafted to mark the most important moments in one’s life. We call it an “aspirational asset” a symbol of achievement, of self-expression, of emotions made tangible.
Interestingly, we’ve seen that when this audience chooses to mark a moment, they often gravitate toward high-quality solitaire diamonds. These aren’t impulsive purchases they’re expressions of emotion, and our job is to ensure they feel as rare and authentic as the person wearing them.
Sustainability is a rising concern in luxury. What are Divine Solitaires doing to align with this shift?
